It is no secret that Israel holds a special place in the hearts of Christian pilgrims from all over the world. Religious tourism in Israel is gaining momentum and is unlikely to ever lose its position. Tourists and pilgrims are attracted by the mysterious and steeped in history country of Israel. And to see with their own eyes all that is talked about around the world – a very tempting offer!

Every year thousands of Christians travel to Israel, especially for Easter and Christmas. On average, pilgrim tourists come for ten days. Their task is to have time to visit Nazareth, Sinai, Bethlehem, Jerusalem. Of course, the most valuable and the main route in Jerusalem is the way of Christ, which consists of visiting the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, then Via Dolorosa, on which Jesus carried the Cross, moving towards Golgotha.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre consists of 40 buildings, including the Church of Golgotha, the Church of the Resurrection and the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre.

The Stone of Anointing is particularly popular with pilgrims from all over the world. It is believed to be the place where Jesus was laid before his burial and where he was anointed with incense.

Above the slab there are eight lamps (Armenian, Greek, Catholic, Georgian, Coptic, Syrian, Maronite, Ethiopian) according to the number of Christian churches. Near the slab on one side is the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, where Christ’s body lay, and on the other side is Golgotha.

Pilgrimage tourism is not to everyone’s liking, but its fans are those faithful tourists who will travel to religious places no matter what, and you can be sure of their loyalty to their passion. Food for the soul, heart and mind is religious tourism. It is quite possible that pilgrimage will become a full-fledged tourism industry in the near future.
